Being involved with a number of very successful Loyalsock Township wrestlers including his sons, Pat and any parent from Eastern and Central Pennsylvania had to travel half way across the State to compete in Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling. Pat began working with the leadership of PJW to spread the program to the East. Pat founded Area X in 1998 during the eastward expansion and remained the chairman for the first nine years, long after his sons were finished competing in PJW. During his time as Area X chairman, Pat faced and overcame issues of promoting the program to the largest and most rural Area in the state. Area X’s participation grew each year, needing three qualifiers. Most importantly Pat set the ethical groundwork for Area X that continues today, modeling the overall PJW organization. Along with Area X, Pat was involved in youth wrestling at Loyalsock Township for nearly 20 years. He spent 5 years as Loyalsock Township's elementary wrestling president and two years as vice president. During his time at Loyalsock he directed wrestling tournaments for 10 years. His dedication to the promotion of youth sports went beyond wrestling as he spent 12 years coaching Pop Warner football and 14 years as a Little League home plate umpire. Today Pat is retired from youth sport involvement, enjoying his favorite pastime of scuba diving and spending time with his grandchildren. Area X continues Pat’s vision and commitment to youth wrestling, leading us to the PJW State tournament being held in Wilkes Barre.
